Hello my name is Valencia but you can call me V. After years of damaging my hair, I knew there had to be a better way. So I decided to take the path to go natual and lock up. I was Sisterlcoked from June 2006 until Sept 2010 (4yrs). In which during that time I truly enjoyed my hair freedom. Unfortunately my journey had to come to end due to post partum hair loss. I have recently started a new journey this past September, and looking forward to all the ups and downs. As a new Sisterlocks™ Consultant I want to give women and men that same freedom.

6 Month Mark Part Two

Well I said I was going to post pictures. So I leave you here some comparison shots. My first month and my six month. My first month is located top left, straight and top right with curls. My six month is bottom left straight, and bottom right with curls. When I first got my sisterlocks installed my average length was about 3-4 inches now my locks is about 5-7 inches all over with the exception of a few in the front hairline. However due to the fact that I am experiencing some major shrinkage right now its hard to tell the true length but I'm okay with that, my locks will fall indue time! I am really amazed how my locks has progressed. In the beginning they were very thin and tiny. I almost thought there was no hope for me. Because I would look at other locked Sister's hair and look at mine and say to my self my locks doesn't look nothing like Sisterlocks at all. What have I done? However I learned to be patient and I'm still being patient becuase I have more hurdles to cross. My locks have made serious improvement since the beginning. My locks have gotten a lil more plump and they are really starting to get thicker at the roots as they grow. At my last retightening my consultant said that my locks where in good shape and I'm doing everything right. However I am still in the lcoking phase so I still have to braid and band and use the Starter Shampoo. Which I am fine with because I don't want any mishapps. I want my locks to turn out great. I am so in love with my locks right now and I'm really happy that I made the decsion to lock up.

I can definitely see how much they have filled in. Take it from me, comparison shots are a must.

The comparison shots are great! Your hair has really plumped up a lot already.

I'm a little envious of your journey - when I started, I only knew one person with locks, and I ddin't have nearly the same amount of information.

You're doing everything right, taking everything in stride, whereas I did everything wrong and fretted fretted fretted! Naturally, even with perfect info, I would have fretted anyway!

Wow,
You can really see the growth difference. Sometimes when I look at my SLs it seem like they will never grow, but I know a change is coming..........
