Hello my name is Valencia but you can call me V. After years of damaging my hair, I knew there had to be a better way. So I decided to take the path to go natual and lock up. I was Sisterlcoked from June 2006 until Sept 2010 (4yrs). In which during that time I truly enjoyed my hair freedom. Unfortunately my journey had to come to end due to post partum hair loss. I have recently started a new journey this past September, and looking forward to all the ups and downs. As a new Sisterlocks™ Consultant I want to give women and men that same freedom.

The Game That Never Ends!

I've been tagged once again, I'm not sure of the number because I have lost count.

Anyhow here are the rules

Here are the rules:

1) Link to the person that tagged you: Shawna

2) Post the rules on the blog

3) Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself.

It took me a while to respond because I have been trying to figure out what to say that I haven't already mentioned!

Okay here it goes.....

#1. I wanted to be a member of the original Black Panther Party! During middle school I had to do some research on them, ever since then I was hooked. That is one of the reasons I have a black panther tatooed on my leg!

#2. I still watch 106 & Park. I know I'm a grown @%% woman but for some reason I like watching that show.

#3. I want to run a half-marathon (13.1 miles) and marathon (26.2miles)in the next 2years! I have ran in two 5K's so far so I guess it's a start!

#4. I hate washing dishes with a passion. Even though I have a dishwasher I can't talk myself into using it just to wash some dishes. I also hate folding and putting up clothes. I'll wash them in a heart beat but ask me to put them up, that will take me forever. (However so far I've been pretty good at putting them up on the same day I wash them. It has been two weeks in a row, So I deserve a sticker, lol)

#5. I love showing off my legs. I think my legs are the bomb and so does my DH, lol! I have been getting compliments on my legs ever since middle school and I still do, but don't tell my DH that, ;)

#6. I have a shoe fetish. I had 70 pairs of shoes and recently got rid of 20. So I now I have 50. I know it's bad but I have slowed down alot, before I would by shoes before buying an outfit which would then force me to buy an outfit just to match the shoes. So now I try to purchase clothes that can go with the shoes that I already have.

Hope those where interesting enough! Anyhow I did take pics of my braidout. Just don't have the time to post them right now. The curls are still holding strong. I wonder how long they will last? I probably won't know because I'm dying to wash my hair.

Don't know who to tag. I'm sure everybody and they mama has benn tagged by now.

Until next time much love!

Curls?

I'm back, just like I said I would. For those of you all who didn't know. I recently roller set my locks on sponge rollers, I had them setting in rollers for a few days. I washed my hair first, I did use a little setting lotion but not much. Since my hair was so wet I sat under the dryer for at least 30 min.

Originally I hadn't planned on keeping my locks in the rollers that long but since school and worked was cancelled I said why not. Well let me tell you those extra days didn't matter, I'm sure even leaving them in for a couple of hours the curls would have came out the same. I know that washing my car in the heat and humid air didn't help as well. You live and learn right?
As you can see the curls are nonexistent!

So I guess it's back to braidouts! I've been hearing a lot about braidouts recently that I decided to try them out once again. I love braidouts! I think they last the longest. If I didn't have to wash my hair so often I'm sure the curls would last for weeks. I usually like to wash my hair every two weeks, but it seems like my dry scalp is trying to return so I washed my hair this weekend. I then braided my hair in 14 or 15 plaits and I plan to take them out on Monday night before work, I just don't see myself getting up at 4 or 5 in the morning trying to take plaits out so I can get to work on time, lol. Anyhow hopefully I will be back this weekend if not sooner to show you the results of the braid out!

Take Care and Until next time much love!

Time On My Hands

Well not really but I'm taking advantage of it anyway. Today me and the kids were off due to the storm that just passed through and I am so thankful to a have a break! So since I had some time on my hands I figured I would blog.

I have been so busy this past few weeks. This weekend I noticed that I havent washed my hair in 3 weeks so I gave my locks a good washing and boy did my scalp thank me for it. Here are a few pics of my fresh washed locks. I like the way my locks look when they are washed they look nice and full. Anyhow I decided since it was time to wash my hair I would style my hair which is something that I haven't done in a long time. I rolled my hair with sponge rollers. The rollers have been in my hair since Sunday( yes i'm still walking around with rollers in my hair), I fgured since I wasn't going anywhere and I was off these past two days I could leave them in and hope for some everlasting curls. When I do take them out, I will be back to give pic updates.

I know I ve been talking alot about starting my locks over, over and over again. However I'm going to try and hang in there. It's looks like my edges are trying to grow back and I hope that is the case. I figured out a game plan that when they grow bakc I will either sew in the ones that I have( yes I lost another one but I cut it out on my own becuase it was hangin on for dear life, but this lock was in the very back so it's not noticeable). Or I can either add some hair whatever the case maybe I have realized that it's fixable and I no longer need to jump to conclusions!

Finally I have pics of my DH's locks. He started his locks wiht braidlocks and he wasn't not concerned about the parts so it was just a grab and braid job. He first put ruberbands over his locks to help keep them together( he has really soft texture of hair) and I believe the ruberbeands helped. I am maintaing his hair with the nappy locks tool and I think his hair is progressing nicely,( When he lets me do it)I had to rebraid several of his locks due to the fact that I had to separate some because they were to big.

The first collage is of his locks first installed and a 2 months after. He wouldn't let me do his hair for nothing. As you can tell my DH has some very thick hair and he has a lot of it. (He needs to donate some to me lol!) The second collage is more recent he is close to 4 months. It doesn't seem like he has had his locks this long. Time is really flying by.I can't wait to see how they progress over time. I think he really likes how they are turning out, I think he will keep this set once and for all. I'm not holding my breath though, lol.

Well I guess that's it for now. I'll be sure to post pics of my curls in the near future.

Until next time much love!

Anywho I have so much to update you all on well not that much, my hubby still has his locs, which is surprising you wouldn't believe how many times I had to talk him into keeping them and they are starting to look good. I have pics but as soon as I get the time to to post them and update you all further I will. I really don't have the time to be doing this but I miss you all so much.
Anyhow for those of you who have me on your list you still please make the changes when you can. My name has changed from Sistalocd to Brown Buttahfly. So my new link is
