Although I am a recovering product junkie, I still find it hard to stay away from some products, lol.
Today I want to talk about the Sisterlocks Reconstructor Conditioner.
I feel bad to say that I have had this product for over a year now and have used very little( I only condition when my locks need it, which is not often). When I did use it I never paid attention to what it did to my hair/locks, I know shame on me. So the last two times I used it I promised myself to pay attention.
The first time I used it, I used it as a regular conditioner after a fresh shampoo, I let it sit for 5 min and then rinsed it out. The second time I used it as a leave in after I washed my hair. I only used a little, a little goes
a long way. It was very easy to apply.
I have come to like this product very much. I think that it works well at conditioning my locks. My locks look and feel really healthy after I apply the conditioner to my locks. I love the fact that the conditioner is non-greasy and very light weight. So it doesn't weigh down my locks nor does it create a lot of build-up.
I have yet to try this product on my locks while they are dry, maybe I will try that next. I hear some people dilute this product with water and use it as a spritz. When I do try it that way I will let you know how I like it. Its very important for me to keep my locks moisturized and conditioned since I have dyed it recently. For those of you that do use the Reconstructor Conditioner how do you all use it and how do you like it?
What shall I try next? I think I will try the Herbal Spray Moisturizer. Anyone else use this product or tried it? Do you like it why or why not?
I have finally finished my hubby's Brotherlocks. I posted pics on FB I will post them on my blog as well. I'm behind on posting pictures I have completed a 3rd install & approaching a 4th, I will post them both then.
Until Next Time Much Love

Hello my name is Valencia but you can call me V. After years of damaging my hair, I knew there had to be a better way. So I decided to take the path to go natual and lock up. I was Sisterlcoked from June 2006 until Sept 2010 (4yrs). In which during that time I truly enjoyed my hair freedom. Unfortunately my journey had to come to end due to post partum hair loss. I have recently started a new journey this past September, and looking forward to all the ups and downs. As a new Sisterlocks™ Consultant I want to give women and men that same freedom.

Dandruff + Beautiful Locs Part 2!
I had to do a part 2 for the simple fact that my dandruff was seriously that bad! The the dandruff was so far gone that it started spreading to my ears and the skin surrounding my hair line. Me and my consultant discovered that the dandruff was so severe that it was thinning out my locks and even noticed some bald spots. So I could not let this dandruff problem linger on and went to see a dermatologist.

I think it's a very good mositurizer and it smells like heaven. You would want to sniff your hair all day, seriously! It also adds a nice shine to your locks. Becareful, a little goes a long way!
I never heard of Marual Oil until recently I believe it's an essential oil. Marula originates from a tree in Africa that produces fruit(female trees only) and I bleive the oil is produced from the nut/kernel from that fruit. I'm sure you can google it and find out more about it, however if you want to find out a little bit about it now you can click ! HERE
Anyhow this year one of my hair goals is to fine one product line and one only that can assist with all of my hair care needs. Do you think that is possible? Over the years I noticed that I have accumulated to much hair products under my sink and it is time to get rid of them. I don't think I'm asking for too much, all I need is a nice leave in conditioner/moisturizer, anti-dandruff shampoo, deep conditioner, and something to set my locks with for styles. I know there has to be at least one product line out there that can accomodate my needs, I'm looking for an African/African-American owned company, I want to help my people out. So if you all have any suggestions please recommend and leave comments.
Well it's my time, I have so much more to say, but so little time so look forward to me being back sooner than later.

In this picture you can see how bad the dandruff was eating at my scalp around the edges and even spreading to other areas of my face/skin. Sorry for the disgusting pic, but I had to let you all know where I was coming from.
I was prescribed a medication (steroid) called Luxiq. It came in a mousse form. At first I was skeptical about it, but it was very easy to apply to the scalp and probably better than other forms that I have heard of in the past. This product is very expensive but very well worth the money when I say that it started getting rid of my problem in hours I mean it lieterally. After using one application only once I saw results the very next day. As the days went by the more and more my dandruff disappeared. The only thing I was afraid of is once I stopped using the product, would the dandruff retrun. So far so good, I have very small flakes every now and then which is expected but nothing compared to what I just went through. Sorry I don't have any after pics, too lzzy to take them.
So I started a routine
My routine has been washing my hair weekly (with several anti-dandruff shampoos all poured into one spray bottle), (Hey I was desparate & plus they were already instock, lol.) I also started using this product by Jamaican Mango & Lime, that my DH swears by. It's called No More Itch Spray (Gro Spray) I originaly bought it for him because he was always complaining of his itchy scalp. However he has battled dandruff as well and noticed that this product has been keeping his dandruff at rest so he told me to try it and I have been using it, I just don't use it as much as I should (the product recommneds twice a day), I only use it like every other day, however I do believe it is working. I'm also going to start back using the ACV rinse once a month, I beilieve it helps.

Speaking of products I have started using this new product that I think whoever is a product junkie should try. It's a product by Motions called Marula Natural Therapy Hair and Scalp Oil.

Bringing In The New Year With Curls
Day 1I decided to give my Soft Spikes ( regular size) another try. When I first purchased them, I wasn't too fond of the curls, they were kind of tight. However now that I have a little length I think I like them. I'm still going to get the jumbo size one day but I think I will give these a few more tries before I do.
>
Day 2 I'm wearing one of my Brunsli Hair Ties
I know you can't really see the curl patttern that great in this picture but it did turn out good.
I set my hair on the Soft Spikes right after I washed them. I also spritz my hair with diluted Lotta Body to help the curls last. Since I wasn't going anywhere I let my Soft Spikes stay in for over 24 hours. I wanted to make sure that they were fully dry, since I don't have hair dryer as of yet. The first day I took them out I wore them as they were, and on the second day I hand combed them out. I am happy with the reuslts. I just wanted to try something new besides free styling all the time. Anyhow I hope everyone had a bleesed New Years, until next time much love.
Day 3 I'm sporting one of my Tomoka's Twists and Earrings
I was excited when I finally got them in the mail. I love them and the earrings, thanks Carmen.
P.S. You know I had to eventually add my rock music into the playlist. This is one of my favorite songs by Cold Play. If you don't like Cold Play something is wrong with you! Lol, I'm just kidding.( Well not really)

My Sisterlocks Wish List
1. Brunsli Hair Ties
2. Some More Tomoka's Twists (Have some on the way!)
3. Jumbo Soft Spikes (In Purple of course). I already have the regular ones but I think I will like the jumbo size better.
4. Some More Brunsli Hair Ties
5. Medium Nappy Lock Tool ( I currently have a small and majority of my locks have swelled up which is a good thing!)
* That is also on the way!
6. 2008 Sisterlocks Calendar
7. Wrap-A-Loc (I so adore those curls!)
* I tried the pipe cleaners not feeling them, and plus I can't find any in black or brown.
8. The Purple People Heater I've been searching for a hair dryer for a minute now and being able to find one in purple with the help of Renea and Brunsli has ended my search.Yes I would buy this hair dryer because it is purple( yes I already know I'm crazy lol). Now if only I can talk my DH in buying this lovely gift for me,lol. I'm working on it though and I have to say I'm wearing him down! He will give in eventually. Asking him for the new Verizon Voyager isn't helping either but I know I will get my way! Hey it's his fault for spoiling me, lol. Isn't that what Husbands are for? Anyhow on to # 9, yes there is more!
9. Aquis Microfiber Turban . You guessed it. I want it in Purple! It took me long and hard to find one in purple majority of the sites didn't sell them anymore but I found one that did only to find out there on back order but that's okay I'll wait!
10. Good Hair Conditioner. I only condition my hair once a year until they completely lock and I'm looking for a good one before June. If any of you have any recommendations please let me know.
11. Did I mention Brunsli Hair Ties ? Lol
I think that is about it. I hope I haven't forgotten anything! I'm sure I have more. After reading this post I have realized that I have a very long list, and that I am in love with the color purple. Oh well I guess I better go do something constructive. Until next time much love!

Brunsli's Hair Ties

Now it's been a while since I sported a B-Hair Tie. When I first got my Sisterlocks and being the product junkie that I USED to be ( I've slowed down tremendously). I purchased close to 10 B-Hair Ties . I have lost count but I know I'm sure to have close to 15 now. I was trying to buy everything out there for my hair not knowing any better at the time, that it was important to just let my hair do what it's suppose to do on it's own. Anyhow back to the story when I first got my Sisterlocks I purchased several of Brunsli's Hair Ties. At that time I couldn't wear them the way I wanted which was up in a pony tail or pineapple. I had even got creative shown in this post. I remember Goodnapps and Brunsli mentioned that I could wear them as headbands instead. I was relieved so I did that for a while. However I eventually stopped wearing my B-Hair Ties not because I wanted to, but because I let them get tangled up. *Note to ladies out there who have several hair ties please keep them in their separate bags or use a tie rack ( which I have yet to buy). It will keep things a lot easier.
Since I have noticed that my hair has grown I decided to start wearing my B-Hair Ties again. I only managed to get a few loose. I'm still working on the rest. ( That's hard work trying to untangle all of those hair ties, lol) Here in this pic I'm wearing one of my favorites. I forgot the name sorry. However it is lovely and I love the way my hair fits up into a hair tie now so I will be posting more pics as I continually try to untangle my other hair ties. I must go out and get a tie rack ASAP before I have to go through this again. The only thing that has stopped me from buying more hair ties at the moment is because I said I wouldn't purchase anymore until I get the others untangled ( it's been a while). When I do finally master that task watch out Brunsli because I have been keeping my eye out on e-bay! (lol) Anyhow just thought I share. If you haven't purchased a Brunsli Hair Tie yet what are you waiting for they really come in handy! Until next time much love.

1 Year Loc-Versary

I am surprised that it's been a year already, I am also happy with my Sisterlocks. My hair has really made a transformation. A transformation that I thought would never come. Before I went natural I had issues with my hair, I had very thin hair. I have had thin hair almost my whole life. When I first got Sisterlocks I was skeptical about the thinness and spaces but my consultant Alandria assured me that it would change I just had to be patient and boy was she right. Slowly but surely my locks started making changes and as I look back I can't believe that it is such a big difference. Getting Sisterlocks was and still is the best decisions that I have ever made for my hair. I wish that I would've done it sooner. Getting Sisterlocks was the best choice for me although I love any type or style of locks. I love Sisterlocks for their size and how their method of locking allows you to wash your hair.

Here is a collage of my Sisterlocks one year ago. My first week I must admit I was afraid to wear my Sisterlocks in public because of the spaces and the thinness so I wore a wig but I got tired of that quickly.

This is a collage of my Sisterlocks now. I think they have really thickened up and have filled in nicely. What do you think? I'm just glad that I didn't give up and hung in there. ( Paying all that money to have them installed wouldn't allow me to give up anyway! lol)
As of now my Sisterlocks are doing pretty well. Despite that I don't think that I have been paying them much attention lately. (Due to severe morning sickness). I still have thin edges but other than that everything else is okay. I still have to braid and band. I wonder how long will it take for me to be fully locked? I still have a some unsealed ends and I'm not sure what to do with them, does anyone have any suggestions? During this time I decided that I need to start taking better care of my Sisterlocks like I'm suppose to as far as wash them when needed, grease my scalp when needed (I have dandruff problems), and treat them to a nice style every now and then (they deserve it lol).

Here is a pic of the products I use. The first is a spray bottle with Apple Cider Vinegar. I use this because it helps with cleaning my scalp and my dandruff problems. I use this one to two times a month. The next is the Sisterlocks Salon Formula Shampoo I have finally graduated from the Starter Shampoo. This shampoo lasts a very long time using the spray bottles are very good idea. The next is Avalon Organics Clarifying Shampoo it's the Lemon with Shea Butter. I absolutely love this shampoo it leaves my locks feeling so great and clean it is very refreshing. I think BlaqKofi recommended this product, thanks Blaq! Next is Top Brass Anti-Dandruff this is a very good product and it works when you use it! (Note to self use this product more often to help control dandruff) Next I have Organic Root Stimulator Fertilizing Temple Balm , I have thin edges so I hope this product works. I heard great reviews about this product, only if I would use this more often as well maybe I would be able to tell a difference. Last but not least Jamaican Mango & Lime Shine-A-Loc. I used this product for the first time yesterday it smells so good and it really moisturizes my locks I just love it. Now I have to refrain myself from using it everyday, lol.

Being that my 1 year loc-versary was a special occasion I decided to treat myself and go shopping. So I headed out to Sally's. I finally bought my self a Caruso Steam Rollers Set and I can't wait to use it. I also purchased a Turbie -Twist I heard so much about them. I also decided to purchase some more hard rollers because every time I go to roll my hair with my old ones I always find less and less rollers, plus these are a little larger which means bigger curls and bigger bounce! Once again the Jamaican Mango & Lime Shine-A-Loc. I know I hear people say to stay away from oils and such because our hair produces its own oils but I couldn't resist I just had to and I'm glad that I did.
Well I think I've written more than enough this should make up for my long absence! Lol. I'm glad to be back. Just an update I did have a talk with my consultant about getting my hair wet in the pool and beach water and she said it was fine as long as I braided and banded and washed my hair thoroughly afterwards. I was relieved now I can go on with my Summer without any worries! I also asked my consultant about coloring my hair but I have to wait until I'm fully locked, I think I can manage until then.
P.S I did update My Fotki so please take a look it has a lot more photos. I have updated my months 7-9 as well as my One Year Loc-Versary. I will be constantly updating so you are more than welcome to visit. I hope you enjoy until next time much love.

More Brunsli Hair Ties?
Okay so I didn't keep my promise but I really couldn't help myself! I recently looked at Brunsli's Hair Blog I was in total shock once I saw all those hair ties. So then I immediately went to Brunsli's Hair Ties Store . To see what was available! I couldn't believe my eyes, after seeing what I saw I knew right then I was going to have to brake my promise. So then I got a pen and paper to jot down the ones I liked. All of them are gorgeous but I picked 10 that I would really like to purchase! Can you believe it? 10 is way too many. So I figured since I can't have them all, I can't have none! At that point I was going to try and wait until January! Then I thought whats the difference between now and then, it feels like I'm punishing myself. So today I go back and take a look and decided that I might as well please myself, However I really needed to narrow my list down! So I look at all the ones that I have written down and find all except for one! WTF? At that moment I knew I needed to purchase the ones I wanted before they go like hot cakes! So I really took a look and tried to find destincitve ones I also kept in mind that It would make sense to purchase smaller ones so that I can enjoy them at the moment. So I found 5, I wanted 3 more but I figuered 5 was more than enough! Hey if they are still there in the future maybe I will purchase them!I think that Brunsli should start having some kind of specials for an addict like me for example If we buy 5 hair ties we get the 6th free or something like that what do you think? I think I need to go to Brunsli's Hair Ties Anonymous! (lol) No seriously! Where do I sign up!?

Prodcut Reviews Part 3: Brunsli Hair Tie's

Before I get started, I must say that Brunsli is a very smart and talented woman, but I'm sure she knows this already! I am really glad you decided to share your creative ideas with us locked sisters. Your hair ties are answers to many of our prayers. Brunsli Hair Tie'sare the best thing since sliced bread!(lol) Seriously I really enjoy her creativity. However I am not able to enjoy them at the moment. When I first purchased them I purchased them without thinking. I didn't realize how short my hair was and I also didn't realize how big the hair tie's was. So now I have to wait a while before I can enjoy them, but thats okay I have no problems waiting. I might just have to take back my word's when I said I would wait unto January to purchase some smaller ones. On that note I am doing good as far as waiting but I visit her site every day to see whats new! As far as customer service, it was great. I reiceved my hair ties in a timely fashion. In fact they came very quickly. I didn't expect them so fast. Anyhow I recommend anyone to try out her hair ties you will really love them.
Product Reviews Part Two : Zayunu by Design

Zayunu By Design has some wonderful loc jewerly. I was amazed when I first viewed her website. I knew right at that moment that I had to get my hands on some of that loc jewerly. I though it would be a good alternative to wearing headbands. However being that my locss are still small and immature I don't want to cause more harm then good. However I still think the loc jewerly is wonderful and thought I would share with you the pieces that I have.
Product Reviews:Oyin
Well in the past, I have purchased several things from several different companies. I finally decided to give my opinion on the products that I purchased. Lets start with Oyin I purchased all most half of the store becuase I was in a happy and shopping mood. (Those two don't go well together!) Anyhow I actually enjoy(ed) most of their products!
. Lets start from left to right back row. The Honey Wash is a body wash I got the scent in Rich Almond I absoulutely love the smell nad it really lathers up good. Next is the Black Foam Soap now that product does nothing for me, maybe its because I hardly use it or maybe thats why I don't use it. Whatever the case maybe I 'm just not to fond of it! Next is the After Bath Body Oil also scented in Rich Almond, I like that product as well its also good for massage oil. Now this next product shouldn't even be on here but I couldn't resist. It is Greg Juice. The only reason why I got it is because I here so much about it on Nappturality . I though it wouldn't hurt to purchase it and promised to use it sparingly, and I can honestly say that I have. I think that I have used it maybe once a week but I also mix it with water in a spray bottle. So that isn't so bad right? Anyhow on to the next is Whipped Pudding, I like this product although I think it was primarily made for hair you can use it on your skin as well. It's very mositurizing my skin loves it. Next is the whipped shea butter that is another product that is mainly used for hair but I use it for my skin only. This product also moisturizes the skin however this cream is a litle more thick then the Whipped Pudding. Next is the Belly Bar I love this product. Although it might not do many any justice I think it's working a little bit. See I have stretch marks on my stomach due to having baby and I though this product would give me some help, However I know that there is no cure but it is doing something! Last but not least the Cuppa Joe Soap it came with two bars but I haved used one already. I really like the soap it leaves my skin feeling fresh and the scent really smells like Coffee. I am satisfied with my products that I purchased, However it took a long time for me to recieve my products but I guess it was worth the wait. I felt good supporting my black folks and I would recommend Oyin to anyone.

Somebody Stop Me Please!
Okay I think I'm officially a product junkie! I'm really getting out of control! I really need to stop, before I had hope but now I think its to late! Just recently I went back to Oyin to get the things I wanted from my wish list. Don't worry they are all bath and body products! (lol) Then I finally figured out how to purchase some loc jewerly from Zayunu which by the way her peices are beautiful! Then I thought about those hairties that I wanted from Brunsli, so I went to her site only to find the ones that I wanted where missing! What happened? I guess I wasn't quick enough! However I was in luck she had some new hair ties that were amazing! I coouldn't believe my eyes how beautiful they where. So what did I do? You guessed it. I purchased three! I learned from my mistakes! So you would think that three was good for now right? Not! I went back today and ordered three more! I'm really not trying to buy up all the hair ties! (lol) I just couldn't resist! For 2 out of the 6 hair ties that I bought she did have some extra so I don't feel as bad! Well to solve my problem I decided not to buy any more products until January! (I hope that I can hold out that long) I also hope that Brunsli doesn't make any more hair ties! ( Just Kidding)Also from January I'm going to allow myself to only purchase one hair tie per month and one hair or bath & body product a month, until I get myself under control!. I'm not sure if this is going to work but I hope it does. Anyhow once I get the hairties and loc jewerly I will post pictures! Until next time much love!

Anyhow I think that I might be a liitle to early for this hair tie, I think my hiar needs to grow out some more, but I still love it. I finally figured the picasa thing out so I hope you enjoy the pics! Until next time much love!

Can we say on the verge of becoming a product junkie?
Today was a boring day for me I think I had to much time on my hands. I was on Nappturality.com and I was looking through the forum and different discussions and I came across a subject that was discussing different hair and body products from different companies, which products was good and the ones that werent. I must admit I got a liitle jeoulous of some of the girls that use a lot of different and what I assume nice products in their hair because they have that freedom. However I don't have that freedom well not right now anyways. So I took it upon myself to look at some of the products that they recommended anyway. I went to Oyin's Site
they had some pretty nice things on there for some pretty nice prices. I'd figure since I can't use none of their hair products maybe I can try their bath and body products. So I did I ordered a couple of things and I also added some things to my wish list until I get paid again! (Sad isn't it?)LOL. So far I ordered some soap (Cuppa Joe) and some Honey Sticks which is lip balm. Next time I plan on ordering the Honey Wash, the After Bath Oil, Whipped Shea Butter, Whipped Pudding, Body Butter and the Milk Bath. That's a long list isn't it? I might have to brake the list down some! Anyhow as listed before I just ordrered a Brunsli Hair Tie which I know I'm going to love. I plan to order more as soon as I get the chance. I tried ordering some loc jewerly from Zayunu By Design but I think that company is out of states and I never ordered anything from a nother country and I'm not sure how it works but as soon as I do, I plan on purchasing a couple of items. Anyhow maybe I can find a nice company that sells nice loc jewerly for a decent price here in the states. Well last but not least I was defitnely considering buying some Sisterlock products. I think my hair sure could use some of that Reconstructor and Moisture Treatment. However I'm not sure if my hair is ready for that yet. I guess I'll ask my consultant next time that I go in, and see what she says. Although I have not brought that much products but I'm thinking really hard. I think I should slow down before it gets too far! Until Then Much Love!
These are the websites to the products I mentioned above!

they had some pretty nice things on there for some pretty nice prices. Brunsli' Hair Ties
I 've been browsing everybody's blog and it appeared to me that everyone and dey mama has a Brunsli Hair Tie. So I thought where's mine? I have to get me one! SO I was looking at Brunsli BLog and I seen a couple of models wearing the hair ties. I thought they look great and unique! So I continued looking at her site as I'm looking I'm trying to firure out how do I purchase one so I continued on looking and looking just as I was about to give up. I finally found the link to the store on ebay where you can purchase them. I was amazed I must have seen more than 40 hair ties and all of them were very unique. I wanted just about all of them but I had to limit myself to one just to make sure that I liked the product. I ordered The Chandra it looks very nice from what I can see on the internet. I can't wait till I recieve it and try it out. I wonder how long will it take to get here? Anyhow I can't do nothing but sit back and wait! Until Then much love!
