Ok so me and my DH had a chance to get away from the kids for a few hours. We took that opportunity to go out to eat. Recently we have changed our diet to a vegetarian lifestyle so we knew it might be difficult to go to a regular restaurant so we decided to go and give a restaurant called Sublime a try. They are 100% Vegan and all their products are natural and organic. Meikmeika suggested this restaurant to me a while ago. Why didn't I go sooner? Me and DH really had a good time and we enjoyed our food it was wonderful. If I had to rate Sublime out of 5Stars it would get a 5!.
My thoughts on the food
My food was delicious and so was my DH's (lol, you know I had to try his food as well). I never knew vegan food can taste so good. We had Fried Green Tomatoes as an appetizer it was good, my first time trying that dish. For the entree I had Pad Thai and my DH had Portabello "Tenderloin" along with onion rings, mashed potatoes and spinach. For dessert we had a Peanut Butter Swirl Brownie. (That brownie was so delicious I ended up eating the whole thing! It was so warm and moist(that doesn't sound right but I'm still talking about the brownie! lol). Me and my DH was very pleased with the food and the presentation was awesome!
My thoughts on Environment
The environment was great, it had a very modern feel. The scenery was nice, they had cascading waterfalls and the seating was spectacular and comfortable. The lighting was great it was dim, they had nice candles on every table.
My thoughts on Pricing
Well I have to admit the pricing was a little steep but it was well worth it! Plus all the proceeds(100%) goes to charity. Isn't that great?!
My thoughts on Customer Service
The customer service was outstanding! Our waitress was very helpful and informative. She took the time out to explain to us about specials, how dishes where set up and what she recommended. To top it off we even had a chance to meet the owner! She went to every table and spoke with everyone! I was amazed because you don't see that often, in fact I've never seen it. ( To Meikmeika did she do that while you where there?)
Anyhow we had a very good time. I will be going to that restaurant more often.
I am so glad that I decided to change my lifestyle to a vegetarian lifestyle. Its one of the best decisions that I have made I am starting to feel the affects of it. I have alot more energy and I feel good about my health and what I'm eating. Going to this restaurant has led to me to search for others and to start cooking new dishes. I will try out one or two new recipes a week and when I do I'll be sure to pot pics for you Meikmeika. However I must warn you they might not come out as good. Anyhow I just wanted to share my experience hey if you are ever in the Ft. Lauderdale area you should give Sublime a try even if you are not a vegetarian you will enjoy the food just as much! Until next time much love.
Sorry I didn't think to take pics of the food or the restaurant at that time.

YAY!!! You went to Sublime!! Everything you stated was on point. Hey, I didn't get to meet the owner... I'm happy you enjoyed your time and got to try vegan dishes that were good. My boyfriend ordered the Pad Thai and he loved it! I ordered a beans, rice, plantain and seitan dish which wasn't all that bad. I'm used to rice and beans being flavored a certain way but they didn't do all that bad.
I can't wait to see your food pics! Don't forget that foreign restaurants like Thai, Chinese, Indian, & West Indian places will more than likely have a veggie dish. The best tofus are made in Chinese stir-fries.
I can't wait for my next visit to Sublime. Your restaurant review was very thorough and even if I had never gone to the restaurant I would so be there on my next visit to Lauderdale.
I wish I would have went sooner. We had a really great time. I didn't know vegan food could taste so good! ( I must be doing something wrong! lo) Anyhow I look forward to going there again. However there are two restaurants that I want to check out here in Miami one is called 100% Natural and the other is Juilo's Natural Foods Restaurant. I haeard they are both pretty good. Anyhow I still haven't chosen a new recipe , hopefully I will start this upcoming week! Take care
Before going to Sublime I thought I was missing out on something. Here I am, a veggie, and I had never eaten at a veggie restaurant except for veggie stir-fries from Chinese restaurants. When I finally tried Sublime out I realized a couple things, 1) Pretty much everything can be veganized and 2) I can make the dishes better to fit my own tastes. But ordering anything on the menu without any worries was immeasurable. This is why hopefully my boyfriend and I will be going back soon.
And by the way, you're not doing anything wrong. It's just that the chefs at Sublime have been preparing vegan food for a long time so they have perfected their dishes. We are still veggie newbies, therefore with practice our dishes will be just as tasteful, if not better.
As for choosing a veggie recipe, it can be hard since there are so many on the net. I usually get a craving for something or have an excess amount of a food like apples, bananas or veggies and choose recipes based on what I have on hand.
I know I'm rambling but good luck on choosing your first recipe and have a wonderful Christmas!!!!
I'm sold!
Sounds like my kinda place. :)
