Hello my name is Valencia but you can call me V. After years of damaging my hair, I knew there had to be a better way. So I decided to take the path to go natual and lock up. I was Sisterlcoked from June 2006 until Sept 2010 (4yrs). In which during that time I truly enjoyed my hair freedom. Unfortunately my journey had to come to end due to post partum hair loss. I have recently started a new journey this past September, and looking forward to all the ups and downs. As a new Sisterlocks™ Consultant I want to give women and men that same freedom.

Throw Backs!

Since I've been a member of this Blog Exchange, I have been looking at several blogs and couldn't help but notice people taking trips down memory lane. Well while I was in the process of packing I happen to come upon a box of old pics so I decided to take one too. They brought back good ole and funny memories. I tried to pick pictures based on my different hair stages, that I have been through in my life some good some bad but we all learn from our mistakes. Viewing some of these pictures made me realize how much weight I have gained over the years. So some of these pictures stand as motivational pics for me. I finally got my act together and started back eating healthy and exercising and since Monday I have lost 2.5 pounds! I also decided that in order for me to stay on track and not fall off again it would benefit me to join a weight loss program. So I did my research and decided that Weight Watchers was the program for me!(Plus they had a special going on! lol).I heard several success stories fromMeikMeika, Tanya, andKDL. I figured they where doing something right and that all I can do is try. So if you gals have any pointers or tips let me know. I realized that I do better with support groups. My first attempt at weight loss which was before having my son I lost 45 pounds with help of a support weight loss group. If I did it then I know I can do it again! Anyway back to hair. The first slide show are pics of me from Elementary School through High School. The second slide show are pics of me from my college years up until 2004 before I went on my weight loss journey! The last slide show is after my weight loss journey and slowly but surely putting the weight back on. After viewing these photos I couldn't helped but notice all the damage that I was doing to my hair no wonder my hair is so thin (I'm surprised that I still have some left! lol) Anyways I hope you enjoy the photos.

Hubby Update! Well I am sorry to inform you that this second journey has ended. Due to very dry scalp and dandruff issues and my hubby not being able to wash his hair led to this. However we both are willing to try again (and plus I can work on my parts some more!! lol) They say the 3rd time is a charm! We will see! The third time around we are going the braidslock method so we are going to let his hair grow out some more. We are also going to deal with his dry scalp and dandruff problem and nip it in the bud! Hopefully this method will work for him. Anyways until next time mcuh love!

I think we have all have had similar hair phases. I used to work in a beauty supply store and that is probably the only reason I never wore weave, cause I saw the damage the bonding glue did to their hair. Good luck on your weight loss!

The trip down memory lane is put together wonderfully.

I wish you the best on your weight loss journey! I'm sure you will be just fine losing the weight. The best advice I have pertains to weight loss maintenance. When you hit your goal weight, keep eating like you did to lose the weight but allow yourself to enjoy the foods you love. In moderation of course. If you fall off the wagon a bit, just go back to eating like when on the program. This is how I am keeping off the pounds and I hope it helps.
