Hello my name is Valencia but you can call me V. After years of damaging my hair, I knew there had to be a better way. So I decided to take the path to go natual and lock up. I was Sisterlcoked from June 2006 until Sept 2010 (4yrs). In which during that time I truly enjoyed my hair freedom. Unfortunately my journey had to come to end due to post partum hair loss. I have recently started a new journey this past September, and looking forward to all the ups and downs. As a new Sisterlocks™ Consultant I want to give women and men that same freedom.

Troubled Loc

This morning I was running my fingers through my locs and I came upon this one particular loc that felt real thin in the middle. (I'm wondering what in the hell is going on in the back of my mind!) So I get up and take a look in the mirror and what do I see a loc that is on the verge of breaking! I must admit I'm not really angry but I am saddened but I do realize that it is just hair and that it will grow back! However I wondering what do I do with this troubled loc do I cut it, do I tie it in a knot or do I just let it be? I'm not really sure what to do. Maybe I should wait until I see my consultant on Monday or better yet ask her and see what she says. If you guys have any suggestions please let me know. I also need help and ideas on preventing this from happening again. I'm going to check the rest of my hair out and make sure there arent anyother troubled locs. Until next time much love! Posted by Picasa

I got sisterlocked during June of 2006 too! I've also found a lock that's thinning in the middle. I'm interested to hear about why that has happened.

I've been SL'd for 8 months now. A couple of months ago I noticed what your currently experiencing. Mine is also in the back. It's thick from root to middle and then there's this long thin string and at the end of the string a short portion of the lock picks up again. So far I've done nothing. I get my hair twisted regularly and she just does it as if nothing is wrong. I spoke to my new consultant about it and she just said that sometimes happen and it may eventually fall off. The stringy part, not the whole lock.

To Renee and Valenciajaz I did mention this to my consultant and all I believe she did was cut it off. I should have been paying attention and I should have asked her what may have been the cause. I won't forget to ask next time. However I do think it is okay to just leave it be if it happens again or I wonder what would happen if you would tie it in a knot?

To Valenciajaz is your real name Valencia? Becasue if it is we have something else in common! I hardly ever come in contact with people of the smae name being that the name Valencias is rare!
